First of all, install Iconify. You can do this by visiting the page of the plugin on the official Figma community site. Click Try it out, and don’t forget to press the Save button next to it so you can use Iconify whenever you want.
Once you have clicked Run, the plugin will open itself on your Figma canvas.
At first glance, you’ll see you have a ton of categories to choose from. Material symbols, Solar icons, Bootstrap Icons, CoreUI icons, etc. These are all just icon sets containing thousands of other icons.
Click on any of them to see the icons they contain. You can also see a few extra pieces of information like the author of the set, license, number of icons, and height of icons.
You can optimize the search process by using already given keywords.
You can also search through all icons and filter the collections at the main menu if you aren’t sure where to look for what you need.
1. Instead of choosing from any pack, you can paste your own SVG to import it to your Figma project.
You can do so by image or by link.
2. Iconify provides more icons than what’s in the plugin. To access them, press Access 170,000 more icons to be redirected to a collection of all sets.
Some of these Iconify sets are Free and some are Premium. No matter your choice, both types of collections are extremely handy and will truly level up your project.
3. You can change the layout of Iconify within your Figma canvas, or minimize it for more efficiency in the design process.
4. You can adjust Iconify’s settings to make the plugin easier for your use.
