The Icons8 plugin in Figma is your 3-in-1 tool for icons, illustrations, and photos. It is a fast and reliable way to customize your Figma project using collections of curated graphics. It has over 3 million icons, illustrations, and photos in its gallery that are available for your use.
The icons are consistent, pixel-perfect, and come in 40+ styles.
Illustrations are both flat and 3D, vector and raster – and they are created by top Dribbble artists.
The photos consist of people, objects, animals, ready-to-use shots, and background-free elements, taken by a movie-scale crew.
Icons8 offers all its assets for free, though there are a few limitations to the free version of this plugin.
With the Icons8 free version, you will need to give credits to Icons8 for its icons, illustrations, and images. You can do this by simply linking back to their website. With the Icons8 Pro version, you don’t need to link back as you will be buying the license.
The pro version also allows you to use PNG files of any size, whereas the free version is limited to PNG in smaller sizes.
First of all, install the plugin by visiting their official site in the Figma community, and clicking Try it out. Don’t forget to press the Save button next to it, so you can use the plugin at any time.
To run the plugin, simply follow the path:
After you’ve opened the plugin, navigating through it is pretty simple. You have 3 main tabs: Icons, Illustrations, and Photos.
In the Icons tab, you can search and sort by various categories – Style, Size, PNG/SVG, and Color.
In the Illustration tab, you can search and sort by Styles and Categories.
In the Photos tab, you can filter the images by a bunch of categories:
This is very helpful if you need something very specific for your Figma design, as you can easily filter through everything.
You can also only search for transparent images or ones that are free.
You can Log in or Register an Icons8 account by pressing on the menu (☰) icon.
You will need an account if you want to buy a pro subscription to Icons8.
Icons8 is a great Figma plugin if you want high-quality components to add to your projects. The plugin’s design allows for easy navigation, so you can design efficiently within Figma.
Even if you aren’t up for buying an Icons8 Pro License, you can still access thousands of icons and images and use them to your liking. Just don’t forget to link back to Icons8.
