Have you recently been looking for a plugin that has it all within Figma? Let us introduce you to IconScout.

IconScout plugin for Figma

IconScout is your best friend when it comes to adding icons, illustrations, 3D assets, and Lottie animations for free in Figma. All these icon assets come in PNG and SVG form, meaning their vector components are fully editable and don’t lose quality. You can easily adjust the shape, color, stroke, size, opacity, and more to fit your brand's aesthetics and achieve the desired look.

Within IconScout you can find over 7.6 million assets for you to use in your Figma projects, an impressive gallery for sure. And aside from this, over 50,000 icons are added every week to IconScout. So all in all, IconScout provides you with both quality and quantity.

Is the IconScout plugin for Figma free?

IconScout offers both the Free version and a Premium subscription. You don’t necessarily need the Premium version of IconScout, as the plugin already offers millions of free assets for you to use.

However, the Premium version of this plugin can be quite useful if you heavily rely on icons and illustrations for your Figma projects – as it offers you the full gallery available on IconScout, plus other amazing features within the plugin.

How to use IconScout plugin for Figma

First, install the plugin by visiting IconScout’s official site in the Figma community. Click Try it out, and don’t forget to press the Save button next to it so you can use IconScout at any time.

Install the plugin

To open IconScout in your desired project in Figma, follow the path:

Resources > Plugins > Figma

The plugin’s design is quite compact, and you will get the hang of it quickly.

IconScout's front tab

You can easily navigate through the 4 main tabs which are Icons, Illustrations, 3Ds, and Animations.

You can also use the search bar on the top to search for any element of your liking.

Next to the search bar is a color wheel, which you can use to customize the assets you will be using easily (instead of editing them manually).

Color Palette

The color wheel comes in palettes, to make your designing process easier and your project more attuned to the colors used.

To insert the elements from IconScout, you simply need to click on them. IconScout will ask you what format you want to insert it in (eg: for icons as PNG or SVG), and the element will be instantly inserted on your Figma canvas.

You can also access your Downloads and Collections within IconScout, but for this, you will need to create an account on IconScout.

You might’ve noticed a side panel present in Iconscout as well: These are icon contributors part of Iconscout.

Icon contributors

It’s like little icon folders within IconScout that you can add to it by following the creators (but first, you will need to create an account/login). Pretty cool, isn’t it?

We hope this article taught you all you needed to know about the IconScout Figma plugin. Make sure to give IconScout a try, to experience the full plugin and its amazing features!
