Do you like including 3-dimensional touches to your Figma designs? Wondering how you can add that third dimension to your 2D designs on your own? You’ve come to the right place.
Vectary 3D Elements is a Figma plugin that lets you create and edit 3D vector elements for your designs. This plugin is handy as it lets you create everything 3D using existing elements in the plugin’s website.
Alongside being able to create custom elements, Vectary 3D Elements offers you its own gallery of 3D figures ready to use. These elements are of all fields and niches, and can easily add a new perspective to your projects.
To install the plugin, visit its official site on the Figma community. Click Try it out, and don’t forget to press the Save button next to it so you can use the plugin at any time.
To open the plugin in your desired Figma file, follow the path:
Once you open the plugin, you can access the entirety of their element gallery in the front tab.
You can scroll down and look through all of them. The number of elements here is limited, but Vectary lets you modify them so you have an infinite amount of possibilities in your hands.
Within the plugin, you can edit various settings such as intensity, rotation, material, roughness, shadow, etc.
But to go more in-depth with the editing process, you need to click the small pen symbol on the corner of the window.
This will redirect you to the official site of Vectary, where you will need to create an account to use the app. Vectary does have a Pro version that allows you to create animations and make the objects interactive, though you only need the free version to create 3D elements.
The Vectary site will give you a brief walkthrough on how to use their home features as soon as you create your account. For a more comprehensive tutorial, you can visit their detailed guide.
But for starters, the reason why you can modify these 3D elements is because they are made of vector components.
Once you click on any of these vector components, on the right side you can see a panel that allows you to change multiple settings of it.
Using these settings, you can change any aspect of the 3D icon. Or you can add new shapes as well, to create your custom figures.
There are a ton of settings that you can modify within Vectary, down to how the light is reflected on the 3D object or even the texture of it. Quite impressive, isn’t it?
We hope this article taught you all you needed to know about the Vectary 3D Elements plugin for Figma. Give it a go and create your personalized 3D elements to use in your design projects.
